[ okay but FINE he's coming along at the hour mark, bundled in a big pink sweater ]

[He's seated on a bench by the big pond with two thermoses and a bag. He's bundled up in many layers but it's bit look so he still looks sharp.]

Ah, you came.

I was kinda tempted to ignore you.

That was probably a wise impulse.

[He offers a thermos.]

Coffee?

Okay, so what's this actually about?

[ he sits on the opposite side of the bench from him ]

Is this family therapy time again?

[He hands him the bag. It's full of stale bread.]

Do you want it to be? I was just going to feed the ducks.

[ ..... stares

at the bread and then him? ]

Really? That's it?

[ he takes a few chunks, tossing them vaguely bird-words. ]

I think it is meant to be... Relaxing. Connecting with nature and all that. Something peaceful.

Uh-huh. I mean, it's a step above watchin' paint dry, sure.

I think they're charming.

[He smiles and gestures.]

The stupid noises they make, the silly way they wiggle their tails as they dive, the general... absurdity of a duck. What isn't to enjoy?
